Calf Muscle Pain

Calf Muscle Pain

The calf muscle's span is from the knee to the ankle. The calf muscles include the gastrocnemius muscles and the soleus muscle. Calf muscle strains are the common problem, especially among male adults (aged from 30 to 50).

If the calf muscles are stretched too far, the calf muscles are prone to injury. Mild injury makes the muscle stretch beyond its normal range - this often causes minor tear. But if the injury is severe, the muscle fibers are often completely torn.

Calf muscle strains often have the following symptoms: mild discomfort, sharp pain, walking difficulty, muscle swelling, muscle bruising, muscle spasm. Leg cramps or blood clots also cause calf muscle pain.
