Osteitis Pubis

Osteitis pubis is the pubis symphysis inflammation, causing lower abdominal and pelvic pain. Osteitis pubis may lead to sclerosis and bone changes, causing acute or chronic groin pain.

The common causes include: muscle contraction, repetitive trauma, excessive athletic training, competitive sports, pregnancy, rheumatologic disorder, gynecologic surgery, urologic surgery.

The common symptoms include: pubis pain, groin discomfort, palpation pain, walking difficulty, hip weakness, waddling gait, medial thigh pain. The following methods can help to reduce the pain and inflammation: resting, ice compression, stretching exercise, physical therapy.
