Neck Pain

Neck pain is a common problem, often affecting the cervical vertebrae and the surrounding muscles. Neck pain can be mild or severe, acute or chronic.

The common symptoms include: neck muscle discomfort, neck aching or numbness, neck moving difficulty, swallowing difficulty, dizziness, gland swelling. In some cases, neck pain may also cause the following symptoms: shoulder pain, arm pain, arm numbness, hand numbness.

Muscle overuse or improper posture can often cause neck pain. Other causes may include: neck injury, nerve compression, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative disc disease, meningitis, ankylosing spondylitis. The following methods can help to relieve neck pain: resting, physical therapy, cold and heat alternating therapy, pain medications.
