Carpal bones are located in the wrist joint. These bones are small and prone to injury. Carpal bone dislocation is not common, but carpal fractures or trauma can cause it occur.

Carpal bone dislocations often include: anterior lunate dislocation, perilunar dislocation. These carpal bone dislocations often involve the lunate bone fracture, causing severe ligament damage. The common symptoms include: diffuse tenderness, swelling, severe pain and deformity.

Carpal bone dislocations may lead to chronic pain, wrist joint instability, wrist vascular or neurological damages. Orthopaedic surgeries may be necessary. If left untreated, the permanent disability may occur.
