Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is the following situation: the plantar fascia becomes inflamed, causing foot discomfort or pain. The plantar fascia is prone to injury and inflammation.

Plantar fasciitis can affect everyone, but mostly middle-aged adults. The common symptoms include: heel pain, foot bending difficulty, ankle discomfort, knee pain.

Prolonged standing or weight-bearing can cause plantar fasciitis. Other causes may include: excessive training, arthritis, obesity, diabetes, inappropriate shoes. The usual treatment options include: cold therapy, night splints, orthotics, physical therapy, massage therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, surgery.
